How much money will I save with LED lights?

LED bulbs are the future! More and more shops are concentrated, and only on LED lighting. The reason why everyone should buy in their new LED bulbs is that they would consume much less than a conventional bulb. But how much of this is true? And if it is true … its LED lights or cost-effective given the relatively expensive purchase? Find out in this article!

Everything about the consumption and the use of a LED lamp:

  • What is a LED bulb?
  • What does LED?
  • Are led bulbs dimmable?
  • Which use LED bulbs?
  • How much energy can I save with LEDs?
  • Compared consumption LED lamps, incandescent lamps and CFL lamps.
  • How much money can I save with a LED lamp?
  • Which LED lamps are there?

What is a LED bulb?

A LED lamp is a type of lighting that is getting more popular. The entire lamp is built-up of several small LED’s which together form a stronger whole. The properties of the individual LED’s together determine the ultimate properties of the entire LED lamp. For example, the brightness is, the color and the beam angle is determined by the combination of all the LEDs together.

What does LED?

LED stands for “light-emitting diode” what is English for “light-emitting diodes. A diode is an electronic component which has been specially developed to guide good flow in one direction and not in another. All diodes emit light, but the wavelength of the energy is at the most as long as diodes so that it is no longer visible to the naked eye. The wavelength for a LED is shorter, so the light is visible to the human eye.

Are led bulbs dimmable?

LED lamps were originally not dimmable. The rapid development of technology is one, however, managed to make LED lights have dimmed. However, it is possible that dimmable LED bulbs cost more than non-dimmable LED lamps. The fact that there are now dimmable LED lamps exist is an added advantage on the energy-saving lamp which is relatively inexpensive in contrast to the light bulb is not dimmable.

Which use LED bulbs?

Individual LEDs are used as small indicator lights, for example, the standby light on a television set. Since LEDs are bundled the mid-2000s to a full LED lamp, however, it is also possible to use this as a regular room lighting. Although the technology is still not allowed LED lamps, in the beginning, today, the ideal alternative to the outdated light bulbs. LED lamps, both indoors and outdoors or used under water. In short, the old bulb can be replaced by full LED lamps.

How much energy can I save with LEDs?

The amount of energy saved can be with LED lamps depends on the wattage of the original incandescent or halogen lamp and wattage of the LED lamp which it replaces. When purchasing of LED lamps, it is not only important to look at some watts. Also, the amount of lumen is important to find a proportional light. General stated that a LED lamp on average 6 to 10 times less consumption than an incandescent bulb and 1.5 to 5 times less than a CFL.

Compared consumption LED lamps, incandescent lamps and CFL lamps.

See table below for a comparison of LEDs with different types. So it is easy to know which LED light is similar to the incandescent or CFL. The displayed values are the names lamp in watts. The last table shows some lumens or light intensity. Please note; not every lamp has by definition the lumen value, this table only shows the averages for all lamps.

Led Save glow Lumen
2 5 25 200
6 8 40 400
10 16 75 900

How much money can I save with a LED lamp?

The arithmetic is clear; a LED lamp with the same lumen will be more expensive to purchase, but much cheaper in use. On the other hand, the life span of a LED lamp is also much longer than an incandescent or CFL. Compare the three lamps in the table below to themselves to come to a conclusion.

Type lamp watt Price per lamp Consumption per hour Total price after 1000 you. Total price 15.000 after you. Total price 20.000 after you. Number of lamps after 20,000 you.
light bulb 25 1 EUR 0,025 kWh 6 EUR 90 EUR 120 EUR 20
Spaarlamp 5 5 EUR 0,005 kWh 6 EUR 25 EUR 30 EUR 2
LED lamp 2 10 EUR 0,002 kWh 10.4 EUR 16 EUR 18 EUR 1

Total price: Total cost of the lamp based on a cost of € 0.20 per kWh, including the theoretical number of spent lamps by these figures: 1 bulb per 100 kWh, one CFL per 10,000 kWh, 1 LED lamp by 30,000 kWh.

Which LED lamps are there?

Since the development of the LED bulb has come a long way making the most of the fittings today also available in LED lighting. Existing connectors for LED lamps are:

  • GU10 spots (+ dimmable)
  • MR16 spotlights (+ dimmable)
  • E14 LED spotlights (+ dimmable)
  • E14 LED candle lights
  • E27 LED bulb spotlights +

Omega 3 essential fatty acids for good health

The human body can convert almost all fatty acids create. The good health essential fatty acids linoleic acid (omega 6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega 3), however, are the exception. THEREFORE these fatty acids are called essential fatty acids. Cell membranes consist for a considerable proportion of these fatty acids, which are very important for the proper functioning of all cells, glands, organs and tissues. Also, fatty acids provide the main fuel for our body. They provide a stable energy production.

General

Fatty acids can be divided into two main groups: the saturated (animal) and unsaturated fatty acids. We can also re-arrange the unsaturated fatty acids, the monounsaturated fatty acids (omega-9), polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega 6) and the super-unsaturated fatty acids (omega 3). For good health, in particular the right ratio between omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids is of paramount importance. These fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K) are exclusively obtained by consuming foods where these essential acids worry. The brains consist of approximately 60% essential fatty acids. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) which occurs in green leafy vegetables, canola oil, perilla oil, flax seed oil and walnuts is restricted with the aid of vitamin B6, magnesium and zinc converted to EPA by the body, which for instance be found in fish oil. EPA is then with the aid of vitamin B6 converted to DHA. Below are treated exclusively omega 3 fatty acids.

The exceptional importance of omega 3 fatty acids

Fats were for years dismissed as unhealthy fattening, whose intake should be avoided. More and more, however, breaks the realization that does not matter the amount of fat, but rather consuming the right fats. The omega 3 fatty acids ensure a smooth exchange of information between cells. They provide protection against cancer, stimulate inflammatory processes, let blood flow more easily through the body and regulate blood sugar. An optimum amount of these acids in our cells brings a good health along with it. In order to function well both physically and mentally, the body (taking morning) at least 500 mg of EPA and DHA per day is needed, in which DHA is the main fatty acid in the brains. Nutritionists recommend more and more to take in EPA and DHA by fish oil capsules with the right amount of these fatty acids. All this by the pollution of the oceans with heavy metals, because otherwise a daily minimum of 230 grams of fatty fish or 860 grams of semi-oily fish should consume, which is practically impossible. With a shortage of EPA and DHA, the body is obliged to use other, less good fatty acids, which can deteriorate. A and another because the strength or weakness of the cell membranes is determined by the kinds of fatty acids that are consumed.

Breakdown of omega-3 fatty acid

This fatty acid can be distinguished, among other things, in EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These two components are essential for building and renewal of the cells and health in general. Because cells are present in the whole body has a shortage of EPA and DHA implications for all parts of the body, such as the occurrence of inflammations everywhere.

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)

The most important fatty acid in the cell membranes is DHA. This substance is not located solely in the brains, which need large amounts of DHA, but also by means of the blood vessels in all other cells of the body. However, most of DHA is not only concentrated in the brains at the nerve endings, in the mitochondria of the nerve cells in the retina of the eyes. One could argue that DHA provides the building blocks for cell membranes and is of paramount importance. In addition, one can think, in particular, to pregnant women and very young children. DHA also facilitates the normal growth, development and function of the central nervous system, supports fat burning, going against high blood pressure and lowers lipids (fats) because it lowers triglycerides. In addition, DHA is useful in the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease, is degeneration of the yellow spot on the retina (macular degeneration) against and has an anti-inflammatory effect because it is in the body can be transformed in resolving D2.

Plant-based and animal sources of Omega-3 acids

Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)

This fatty acid is much more evenly distributed throughout the body and, therefore, is also present in the brains, where it regulates the brain function by supplying energy. In addition, it exerts influence on inflammation, the immune function, the blood vessels, blood coagulation and blood flow to the brains. In this context, EPA is effective in the early stages of each ignition, because the operation of ignition-promoting hormones is attenuated. Also, it prevents the development of arteriosclerosis, is clotting of the blood and ensures that LDL-cholesterol does not deposit on the walls of the blood vessels. EPA also supports the state of mind and is very valuable in the treatment of depression, burnout, CFS, dyslexia and mood disorders, sometimes combined with antidepressants. It works with mental problems better than DHA and also reduces the level of triglycerides.

Cough: function, causes, measures and medications

Coughing is a natural way to clean up the airways. Is lining on the inside of the airways. If the mucous membrane is stimulated makes extra mucus. By expectoration of mucus that extra be smoke particles, dust, and mucus removed from the trachea, throat, or lungs. Sometimes there is no mucus released during coughing, and there is a so-called dry cough or a dry cough. While coughing a precise function, everyone usually seeks to do to avoid it by taking action.

Planting and seeding around the longest day

Although the sowing and planting season is not completely silent after the longest day (June 21), but many plants do after that time insufficient time to grow and mature. Especially for asparagus and rhubarb is June 21 a special date. Also, it is advisable to have, say, two weeks, the hedge one more time to be cut in the longest day. Which runs one more time in making the open spaces are filled well in the hedge. However, there are rapidly rising vegetables you can still sowing or planting and harvesting after the longest day.

Gardeners for garden design, construction, and maintenance

A garden design is a complex task that is much more than just creativity. Knowledge of materials for the design of wooden and stone elements and knowledge of flowers, trees, grasses, and plants are just as important. Many who are not professionally involved with gardens will still venture to design and build a garden but concerns a relatively small piece of land. For a larger garden can improve a practitioner named gardener or gardener, are switched on.

The dynamic energy

When your body uses more calories than you take in calories to the diet, fat is burned and fall off. When you use fewer calories than you are taking in calories, fat mass increases and you become heavier. To burn an average of one kilogram of fat you need to burn about 7800 calories more than take. Previously, the energy balance was used as a static model. Both sides of the energy balance were in this static energy balance model dissociated from each other. By this is meant that energy intake and energy consumption would have no influence on each other. It was also thought that the stay the same both sides of the energy balance, lose weight during, for example, or be just heavier. However, the opposite is true. Nowadays, more based on a model in which the energy is dynamic; the dynamic energy.

Caring for plants in winter

To care for the plants that we currently have in our garden, terrace, and inside of our house, we must consider some precautions that have to do with changes in temperature, heating, and inadequate irrigation when the thermometers fall.

One of the main precautions you should take right now is about buying plants.

Although this is time of a year that are sold and bought fewer crops, a plant is a magnificent entertainment, and it is worth remembering that you have to look good on every issue that is acquired.

It is important not to have spotted leaves and the roots do not protrude through the drainage holes. It does not hurt to test releases remove the specimen from its pot and check the root ball out of one piece and that the roots are abundant, clear and not black color, because that would be a symptom of decay.
